Optimization is for making code or program more efficient from deleting some code or rewriting code to making systems to run a program run faster. Video games are a good example of this since optimization is very important for them it makes the game run quicker and they could use the computing power for something else. Optimization is often used in games to make them run better and add more details but in recent years AAA game companies have put less and less optimization in games, this happens because game companies want to be as cheap as possible and rush employees setting a short deadline or just not wanting to pay for them to make good optimization, game companies also trying to create realism also makes things worse. things could change now that there is ram shortage, since ram prices are pretty high right now, on steam it says that the average ram a persons pc has is 16gb so this might encourage game devs to optimize so people can play their games I'll be explaning a few differen types of types of optimizing but not detail of the code.
